I love dawn on a still morning, before the sun is above the horizon and there are no boats out. I roll out of bed, make a mug of coffee and slip off into the magical calm on my paddleboard or in my kayak. I stop often just to take it all in and listen to early morning sounds. September is a perfect month as there are few boats on the lake, and dawn isn’t too early! This was Sept 11 at 6:20 a.m. near Bulman Bay on Lake of the Woods.
