Twin island is a pair of small islands connected by a bridge, and the outhouse is across the bridge from the main cabin. Our camp has been a part of this family since 1926, and this outhouse, and previous iterations thereof, have stood for 99 years. It survived the floods of 1950 and 2022—but the land around it was almost underwater. In fact, both flood years required us telling our guests, “If you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta row” because the bridge was unusable. The only way to the Biffy was by boat.
