LOWDSA Holiday greetings 2020

LOWDSA Holiday greetings 2020

Holiday Wishes From the Lake of the Woods District Stewardship Association

"May this season find you and your family sharing special time together, even if from a distance."

The past year has certainly been an interesting one with many surprises, not all welcome. Adaptation and flexibility have been key to LOWDSA’s ability to meeting the challenges we have faced. Your LOWDSA staff and board creatively adapted our 2020 programs in light of public health guidelines to continue providing informative programs wherever you were situated.  We will keep striving to deliver information and programs to keep us focused on preserving this beautiful place we all love.

As we come to the end of 2020, we’re happy to welcome Patrick Paulo to the LOWDSA team as Executive Director, but Diane Schwartz-Williams is not leaving quite yet. To ensure that no stone goes unturned, Patrick and Diane will be working together into January to allow a smooth transition.

Thank you for your support as we went through unprecedented times.  Wishing you and your family the best for a safe, healthy holiday season and upcoming year. We are excited as we look forward to 2021 and leave you with the following thoughts from your LOWDSA team.

Chris Semenchuk. President

"The Lake of the Woods District Stewardship Association wishes each of our members a safe and happy holiday season."

While 2020 was not quite the year we all expected it to be, I look toward the new year with hope and a great deal of excitement. I would like to thank Diane and the board for the opportunity to join LOWDSA and to especially thank our members and partners for the warm welcome. The Lake of the Woods area is truly a special place and I'm excited to join the team to help preserve one of the most beautiful places on earth.

With much kindness, I wish you Happy Holidays and a splendid New Year.

Cheers, Patrick Paulo,  Co-Executive Director

For many of us, this holiday season will be so very different than last year and not what we looked forward to and hoped for. We’re all adjusting to a lot of changes these days, some easier to navigate and accept than others, but we’re doing it.

The meaning of this season and the traditions that come with it are very personal and different for each us. Whatever this season means to you, my wish for you is that you are able to be with those you love, even if only virtually. The joy of time together sharing stories and some fun along with the smiles and laughter that tag along are priceless.

My thoughts go out to those of you for whom this season my be a sad time. May treasured memories bring you comfort and some smiles.  And to everyone – a wish for a new year that brings health, happiness, and hugs (real not virtual).

Ciao!  Diane Schwartz-Williams, Co-Executive Director

I hope that we can look back on this year, think of all the smiles and time spent with family, despite being in strange times. Some of you had a chance to spend time at the lake while others could not. Please know that everyone at LOWDSA has been working hard to keep you informed all year, and plan to continue throughout what will likely be another unpredictable year ahead. We can’t wait to see you when you’re able! Take care and enjoy the holiday season!

Cheers, Shelley Bujold  Assistant Executive Director
